BLUE CRAB
SURVEY
The
primary purpose of the 2002, 2005, and 2011 Blue Crab Surveys was to collect data needed for
generating estimates of the recreational catch and effort in the Chesapeake
Bay blue crab fishery. The
Blue Crab Surveys were also used as a means of collecting length frequency
and gender data on the blue crab. The
gathering of such information served to fulfill requirements of Old
Dominion University.
